[439-19365] At McDonald's Field today Chicago outclassed the Sydney Sharks 17-12 and won the World League Baseball World Championship for the 1st time in its club history.
The Blues rounded out the 2028 season with a 87-75 mark and wound up in second place in the Western Hemisphere North pennant chase.

In the latest churning of the rumor mill, reports indicate that 37-year-old third baseman Marcus Wright of the Chicago Blues could be on the trading block. While the player refused to comment, the team did not outright deny the claims. "If it'll help this team, we'll make a move," said one team official.

 | Monday, October 2nd, 2028: League Punishes Pair for Fighting
It was a pretty intense fight, so Juergen Roche and Gary Quintal were both suspended today for 8 games for their part in a brawl which happened in a game between the Chicago Blues and the Havana Sugar Kings at McDonald's Field.
Roche said, "Luckily nobody was hurt. I think we both overreacted to the situation."
So far this year Roche has hit .268 with 21 home runs, 72 RBIs and 108 runs scored.
This year Quintal has compiled a 14-9 record with a 4.76 ERA.
