There's nothing like being in the prime of your baseball career -- and playing like it. Just ask Bernardo Barata, the Unified Korea shortstop, who swung a sweet bat all week to not only aid his team, but also pick up the Eastern Hemisphere Player of the Week honors.
Barata piled up 11 hits in 27 at-bats, 4 home runs and 9 RBIs while hitting .407.
So far this season Barata has gotten 192 hits in 614 at-bats for a .313 batting average with 39 home runs. His stats include 127 RBIs and 103 runs scored. He has played in 155 games.

 | Wednesday, September 6th, 2028: Season Over for Agarkar in Unified Korea
The doctors have spoken and Ravindran Agarkar of the Unified Korea Chaebol didn't like what he heard. The 33-year-old third baseman is almost certainly gone for the rest of the year and depending on his progress could miss some of next season as well. Agarkar sustained his season-ending injury during the Lagos White Horses game yesterday at Place Mont Royale. He had to leave the game because he hurt himself while running the bases. Today the Unified Korea medical staff reported Agarkar had a fractured foot and would be absent from the lineup for at least 3 weeks.
This season Agarkar has 8 home runs and a .323 batting average.

 | Monday, September 4th, 2028: Marijn 6-6 for White Horses
6 hits in a game has always been a magic number in baseball. Only a handful of players will do that. Get 6 hits in a game and you get your moment of glory... your 5 minutes of fame... you get your name in the record book.
In the White Horses 9-7 win over Unified Korea, Gerolt Marijn was red-hot today, scorching them for hit after hit at Ironsi Stadium.
"To hit the ball consistently well, you have to relax. I was relaxed for the first four hits, but I must admit, I got a little tight when I realized I had a chance for a 6-hit game. On the last at-bat, I was ready to swing at anything close."
On his big day Marijn delivered 6 hits in 6 at-bats.
G. Marijn singled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, doubled in the 5th, singled in the 7th, hit a two-run home run off A. Demarco in the 9th and hit a two-run home run off C. Chiwk in the 10th.
In 2028 Marijn is currently batting .301 with 14 home runs and 84 RBIs. In 125 games he has reached base at a .390 rate and scored 93 runs to date.
