Friday, September 8th, 2028: Oluchi Strokes 5 Hits
Taonga Oluchi was on quite a roll today as he knocked the ball all over the park, collecting 5 hits and leading the Pride to a 18-2 victory over the Toronto Towers.

After the first three hits, all eyes in the ballpark were drawn to him each time he stepped into the batter's box. Even a few of the opposing fans were pulling for him, knowing they were watching a little baseball-hitting history unfold.

In the clubhouse, crowded by reporters, the New York center fielder said, "I never realized that batting a little ball around could cause so much commotion." When asked what the secret of hitting so well is, he smiled and replied, "The key to hitting for a high average is to relax, concentrate and hit the ball where they ain't."

Nobody was at home today as Oluchi finished the day with 5 hits in 5 at-bats and a line in the record book.

T. Oluchi hit a two-run single in the 1st, hit a two-run single in the 2nd, doubled in the 3rd, hit an RBI triple in the 5th and hit a two-run home run off S. Tomokazu in the 7th.

So far this year Oluchi is batting .315 with 4 home runs.
Friday, September 8th, 2028: Pride Oluchi Sizzles with Cycle
It was a special day for Taonga Oluchi at Twin Towers Memorial Field. Not only did Pride beat the Toronto Towers 18-2, but the New York center fielder hit for the cycle, too. The 26-year-old Oluchi racked up 2 singles, 1 double, 1 triple and 1 home run to get his name mentioned in the record book. For the game he was 5-5 with 7 runs batted in and 3 runs scored.

In the words of the Toronto manager, "He hit everything we threw. There was just no getting him out today."
Speaking to the press after the game, Oluchi said, "First pitch fastballs, that's what I was looking for today... I got some good looks."

T. Oluchi hit a two-run single in the 1st, hit a two-run single in the 2nd, doubled in the 3rd, hit an RBI triple in the 5th and hit a two-run home run off S. Tomokazu in the 7th.

Oluchi on the season is batting .315 with 4 home runs. His totals include 24 RBIs and 18 runs scored. He has played in 35 games.
Thursday, September 7th, 2028: Toronto Snaps Huggins's Streak at 30
The streak has been snapped.
David Huggins failed to get a hit in today's game against the Towers and his 30-game hitting spree has come to an end. The 25-year-old New York second baseman was 0-for-4, but the Pride got the win and defeated the Towers 3-2.

"I'm not disappointed at all; I had a great run," Huggins said. "It was fun. I got to 30 games. I got my name into an elite group with a bunch of good ballplayers."

In 2028, Huggins is hitting .348 with 14 home runs and 56 RBIs in 90 games played. He also boasts an OBP of .404 with 32 walks and 75 runs scored.
