It was a smooth and solid performance by Gerardo Gonzalez of the St. Domingo Tigers against Panama City today. He crafted a fine 2-hitter in blanking them 6-0 and chalked up 5 strikeouts and 3 walks along the way.
"It certainly makes my job easy," said the St. Domingo skipper. "When my pitcher pitches a shutout. I can just sit back, watch and enjoy."
In season stats Gonzalez shows a 14-9 record in 27 games, 189.1 innings, 126 strikeouts and a 3.66 ERA.

 | Friday, August 11th, 2028: Aedonitsky Involved in Accident
Panama City will be minus the services of reliever Matvey Aedonitsky for about one week. He hurt himself while cutting a brownie out of a pan yesterday and sustained an undisclosed injury.
This season Aedonitsky has claimed 1 save and registered a 4-8 record with a 4.88 ERA. He has 10 relief appearances spanning 125.1 innings and has struck out 63.

 | Tuesday, August 8th, 2028: Angel Collects Hit Number 2500
Eugenio Angel started out as a baby-faced rookie many seasons ago. Yesterday at Bill Heckel Jr. Memorial Field the Bogota veteran joined the league's 2500-hit club. Angel achieved that milestone with a 3-for-4 day in the Bandits 6-5 win over the Panama City Warriors.
He spoke to reporters in the clubhouse after the game and said, "Looking at the list of all the great players who have done this is humbling. It is a great honor to be among them."
Angel's career batting average stands at .351, and he has 177 home runs.
